Wilma Laughlin at Iowa Governor's Volunteerism Award 6.30.08118 viewsState of Iowa 2008 Governor’s Volunteer Award Goes to Our Very Own
Wilma Laughlin!
There is no question that contributions from volunteers greatly enhance our towns, schools and our state. That is why Carson City Hall nominated Wilma Laughlin for the Governor’s 2008 Volunteer Award to honor her for all of her creativity, time, and thoughtfulness as a local volunteer for the Carson, Macedonia, and Oakland communities. Wilma has been actively coordinating and spending her creative talent on writing and directing Dinner Theatre Fundraisers over the past 5+ years for the Carson, Oakland, and Macedonia communities. Her past 6 Dinner Theatre fundraising efforts have raised well over $25,000+ for various community non-profit needs and events. Wilma always has a unique way of pulling together a wide variety of local volunteers (or shall we say “characters”) to put on some very entertaining Dinner Theatres.
If you happen to be downtown please stop by her business (Permanent Solution) and congratulate Wilma on her exceptional achievement of this once-in-a-lifetime award. Wilma will be honored at the Governor’s Volunteer Award Ceremony in Des Moines, IA (Southeast Polk High School Auditorium) on June 30th, 2008. The ceremony is open to the public.
