Regular City Council Meeting

September 8, 2008

Present:  Weuve, Pracht, Hendricks, Damgaard, Riddle.
Mayor Taylor called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. 
Hendricks made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Pracht – 5 ayes.
Public present.  Rick Sternberg was present.. 
Maintenance Reports were given regarding ongoing WWTP issues, cost to purchase mosquito sprayer, cost to hire a contractor to fill the cracks in the streets, and fire hydrant replacement.
Damgaard made a motion to approve the 3rd & Final Reading of Ordinance 193 (Dangerous Building Ordinance), seconded by Hendricks – 5 ayes. Roll Call:  Ayes: Damgaard, Hendricks, Pracht, Weuve, Riddle. 
Hendricks made a motion to approve the Clerk to apply the $150 donation from MidAmerican Energy towards the expenses for the City Open House Event, seconded by Pracht – 5 ayes. 
Council discussed the City parcel at 418 S. Rodeo Drive.  Council stated it would be nice to have more information on the history of the red house on the parcel.  The Fire Department will use the house for fire training.  Maintenance Department and City Council Members have begun clearing up the tree debris on the parcel. 
The City Clerk informed the City Council that the City Attorney is still drafting an ordinance for the swimming pool regulation amendments, and asked that City Council would provide more clarification on how they want to amend the truck parking ordinances. 
Hendricks made a motion to approve Resolution 2008-23 (Approve Transfer of TIF Funds to Debt Service and Capital Project Funds per City Auditors recommendation), seconded by Damgaard – 5 ayes.  Roll Call: Ayes: Damgaard, Hendricks, Pracht, Weuve, Riddle. 
Damgaard made a motion to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Hendricks – 5 ayes.  Consent agenda consisted of August 11, 2008 Minutes, September Bills, Utility Report, Overtime Report, Community Center Reports, Sheriffs Report, Fire Department Reports. 
Hendricks made a motion to approve the Municipal Infractions Report, seconded by Weuve.  4 ayes: Weuve, Hendricks, Damgaard, Pracht.  1 abstain:  Riddle. 
Riddle made a motion to adjourn at 8:18 PM, seconded by Damgaard – 5 ayes.
