Regular City Council Meeting

March 8, 2010

Present: Damgaard, Strong, Weuve, White, Jones

Mayor Taylor called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

Damgaard made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Weuve – 5 ayes.

No comments from the public.

Larry Allen was present to discuss camping fees during the High School Rodeo. This year’s High School Rodeo will be held June 4-6, 2010.  Weuve made a motion to allow the High School Rodeo to keep the camping fees from the park for Event Revenues, seconded by White – 5 ayes.  A Resolution to close the park camping grounds (during Rodeo) to the public will be on the April meeting agenda; this will be to accommodate the Rodeo Guests. 

Maintenance Reports were given.  Cold patching of potholes was done this week and last.  A quote was received from Mertes Welding to convert the City’s Garbage Truck to a Dump Truck. No action was taken.  Question was asked which vehicle needs replaced the most.  Stillinger replied the Dodge pickup truck is in poor shape.  

Damgaard (daytime meetings) and White (evening meetings) volunteered to participate as Carson Representatives for the Pottawattamie County Citizen Advisory Committee. 

White made a motion to approve Resolution 2010-5 (Approve Application to Build with Bags Grant Program for Trash Receptacles & Benches) – 5 ayes.  Roll call vote:  Damgaard, Weuve, White, Jones, Strong.  Motion carried.

Discussion held regarding locations for “Welcome to Bulldog Country” signage.  Damgaard and the City Clerk will contact potential property owners for signage locations. 

Damgaard made a motion to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Weuve – 5 ayes.  The Consent agenda consisted of February 8, 2010 Minutes, March Bills, Clerk & Treasurer Reports, Overtime Report, Community Center Reports, Fire Department Reports, Utility Report, Sheriff’s Reports, Municipal Infraction Report.

Weuve made a motion to adjourn at 8:08 PM, seconded by Strong – 5 ayes.
